Meet the Tutors

Lucie Cooper

Company Director, Theatre School Manager, Senior Tutor, 1:1 Singing Tutor & Admin

Lucie has been involved in theatre from a young age, beginning her training at Take 2 Performing Arts Academy, where she was a highly committed member of both the theatre school and theatre company. During this time, she performed in numerous productions across a wide range of roles, with standout performances including Ado Annie (Oklahoma!), Eva Perón (Evita), Fantine (Les Misérables) and Christine (The Phantom of the Opera). Alongside her performance work, Lucie completed LCM singing examinations up to Grade 8, achieving Distinctions throughout.

At the age of 16, Lucie progressed to professional training, studying a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Musical Theatre at Mechanics Performing Arts. During her time there, she developed extensively as a performer and artist, appearing in a variety of productions including Legally Blonde (Paulette), Rent (Mimi), and children’s theatre productions such as Dr. TV & The Zombies, which toured to venues including West Yorkshire Playhouse. While still in training, Lucie also secured her first professional contracts, performing as Alice Fitzwarren in Dick Whittington and Fairy Flora at The Academy Theatre.

Lucie went on to complete a BA (Hons) in Performance Industries at Mechanics Performing Arts, gaining further experience across performance, dance, acting and theatre, while also developing strong skills in teaching, directing and choreography. It was during this period that she decided to pursue a career in education and creative leadership. She subsequently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), specialising in Musical Theatre and the Arts.

Following her PGCE, Lucie returned to Mechanics Performing Arts as a lecturer-marking a full-circle moment in her career. She served as Course Leader for Level 2 Performing Arts and Level 3 Musical Theatre for five years, alongside lecturing on the degree programme.

Alongside her teaching career, Lucie has worked professionally with a range of production companies, including Pastiche Worldwide Ltd. as a solo and ensemble vocalist and events manager, The CopyCat Party Company as a character performer, and Actual Size Theatre Company as a vocalist and actor.

Lucie is now the Manager of Take 2 Performing Arts Academy, where she brings her extensive professional and educational experience to inspire and develop young performers. She leads the Senior Group, directing, choreographing and producing productions, and also works closely with Julie on the Theatre Company, supporting direction and choreography. In addition, Lucie is a dedicated singing tutor, delivering weekly one-to-one vocal tuition at Take 2.

Lucie is deeply passionate about theatre and believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the magic of performing, regardless of age, ability or previous experience.
